A MetroStage holiday tradition. A delicious cross between the classic Dickens’ tale and uproarious song parodies of 33 of your favorite Broadway show tunes by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim and many more. A “can’t miss way to ensure a merry holiday season” with “infectious hilarity.” Critics have called it “”a true triumph...wickedly funny…irreverent…riotous.” Great music, great fun, and a great redemptive message to share with family and friends during the holidays.
“a kinetic, toe-tapping holiday confection” - DCTheatreScene
“high-octane, vaudevillian comedy” - Washington Examiner

by Jane Horowitz for the Washington Post, Dcember 2, 2013
Musical-theater purists need not see “A Broadway Christmas Carol” at MetroStage. But musical-theater fanatics who like to laugh should head to Alexandria with jingle bells on. A passing familiarity with decades of musicals, from “Oklahoma!” through “Avenue Q,” would add to anyone’s enjoyment...

METROSTAGE WHIRLS AUDIENCES INTO HOLIDAY SPIRIT
by G. Blaise Hoeler for BroadwayWorld.com, November 27, 2013
Holidays always meant two things in my family: New York City and sitting through some version of Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol." I am sure I am not the only one to have seen perhaps an embarrassing amount of the Christmas miser throughout the years. The concept is simple: playwright Kathy Feininger took Charles Dicken's "Christmas Carol" and laced it with the tunes of ...

THEATRE REVIEW: 'A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL'
by Anna Brinley for MD Theatre Guide, November 26, 2013
A Broadway Christmas Carol, now playing at Old Town Alexandira intimate MetroStage, is a must see for the Broadway musical lover. An inventive and professional cast of four brings life and humor to Charles Dickens' chilly tale of Ebenezer Scrooge (Peter Boyer) and his winding path from miserdom to the generosity of the Christmas spirit.

One thing’s for sure: This is not your grandparent’s Dickens.Imagine the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, but instead of the traditional ageless tale...

'A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL' BY LAURA FRIES
for AlexandriaNEWS.org, November 26 2013
According to Charles Dickens, “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.” Audiences can find both at Metro Stage with its production of “A Broadway Christmas Carol”. This pun-filled, show tunes extravaganza is sure to lighten the holiday load and make idle people quite merry. It’s the classic Dickens story, reworked with the music of...
