A musical biography of Mahalia Jackson starring the incomparable Bernardine Mitchell (2005 Helen Hayes Award for this role).  Depicting the life of the “Queen of Gospel Music” from her beginnings in the segregated South to her debut on the stage of Carnegie Hall and on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.   Also featuring William Hubbard (Helen Hayes nomination for this role.)

Starring the acclaimed singer songwriter Paul Scott Goodman (composer of Rooms, a rock romance which premiered at MetroStage in 2008 and received 5 Helen Hayes nominations and the Award for Outstanding Lead Actress).  Goodman, an authentic Scottish Jewish guitar playing rocker, tells the story of living and surviving in Soho as an artist, a lover and, ultimately, a father.  An original voice that captures the sights, sounds, challenges and complexities of life in the 80’s in Manhattan.
